On June 13, 2016 we donated $4,000 to End 68 Hours of Hunger, Lake County.

The Problem: Childhood food insecurity is a national problem, it occurs when children receive insufficient food on a regular basis; in many cases missing meals entirely. After a while, these children also experience “fear of hunger” that affects their behavior as much as physical hunger affects their bodies. There are more than 16 million food insecure children in America today.

How End 68 Hours of Hunger Helps :This program puts nourishing food in the hands of school children to carry them through the weekend. Each bag of food costs $10 each week and provides two breakfasts, two lunches, and three dinners for a child, with some left over to share! http://www.end68hoursofhunger.org/our-work/

On September 12, 2016 we donated $5,200 to Hope Chest, Painesville.

Our Mission is to provide clean clothing and new shoes, socks and underwear to school children in Lake County so that they may attend school with dignity and pride. http://hopechest.yolasite.com/

On December 12, 2016 we donated $5,800 to AnniesMILES.

“AnniesMILES was inspired by Annie who has a never ending smile and unconditional love for children. In 2010, Annie was diagnosed with a brain tumor and has been successfully managing this illness while she raises her son, spends time with her husband and teaches elementary students.”

“In wanting to show support of Annie and others in her situation, people who are passionate about Annie and people who are passionate about running, determined that by combining Annie’s smile and many miles, a great support system, called AnniesMILES could be created.”

“Some of the ways we have supported moms were providing a family night out with dinner and a movie, gas cards to alleviate the higher costs of healthcare visits. We have provided cleaning services, wigs to prescription eyeglasses.”

They have provided enrichment activities and items of need to somewhat help normalize the lives of moms who are battling cancer. 100% of all of the monies donated go to their efforts to support the mothers and to preserve the family unit. There are “0” admin costs. All administrative work has been donated. http://www.anniesmiles.com/
