In September of 2018 we donated $7,701 to Sub Zero Mission.
Founded by military veterans, Sub Zero Mission is a charity dedicated to providing warming items such as coats, hats, gloves, boots, and sleeping bags for homeless in the brutal winter months of northeast Ohio. While Sub Zero Mission provides warming items to any homeless they encounter when doing deliveries, the charity’s founding mission is to provide warming items to homeless military veterans in addition to educating them on the programs and resources available to veterans. According to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation, 18% of America’s homeless population are military veterans and the Sub Zero Mission hopes to drastically change that. To deliver items, the charity does delivery runs in the middle of the night seeking out homeless sleeping in wooded areas, under bridges, and various camps. Last year the charity completed 45 runs and provided 1,200 coats to homeless. With our donation, the charity will increase its efforts and provide warmth to a larger population of homeless throughout the next winter season.
Other Causes Presented:
- Hannah’s Home is a maternity group home that provides support to single, pregnant women who are homeless, victims of abuse, or recovering from addiction. The home provides 15-20 women each year with housing, food, clothing, and counseling as they prepare for parenthood. With increased funding, the charity hopes to positively influence the lives of 50 women.
